Sake Cup – Gyokuon / Wabisabi Blue

A beautiful copper sake cup with a hammered pattern. Mr. Susa, who honed his skills at a long-established hammered copperware workshop and later became independent, is a full member of the Japan Kogei Association and has created and presented numerous works. This sake cup is crafted using the hammered copperware technique and expressed with his unique sensibility. “Gyokuon” and “Wabisabi Blue” represent rhythmic movements of sound through hammered patterns and evoke the feeling of wabi (subtle beauty) with a traditional coloring technique that produces a serene blue hue. Hammered copperware is a masterpiece that allows one to enjoy the changes that come with age through use. Each piece has slight variations in expression to make it a one-of-a-kind work.
